{UAH} Dr. Aggrey Kiyingi - Why Tarnish His Name!

Since Aggrey Kiyingi announced that he will be participating in the 2016 Presidential Elections, so many things have been said about him, first by the current government of Uganda and so many other people in the media - electronic, print and social media.

On social networks, I have seen a number of posts coming out and up to abuse him, ridicule him, demonize him, calling him names. So many have brought out pictures showing his private life (some of those pictures are photo-shopped) and many have judged him negatively basing on those pictures. I have this to tell all those seeing and judging him in the negative:

Aggrey Kiyingi as a person is entitled to a private life and he is also a family man. What I have seen in all the pictures and videos (the genuine ones, not photo-shopped) is a person who loves his wife and his children, he is such a personable individual. And I think it all begins with that. Like they say, charity begins at home.

He is a caring person simply, who loves his life and those people close and around him. He has now come out and up to stand for the highest office in Uganda such that he can spread that love and care to the rest of Ugandans. And I think that is what we all need. He knows and understands the basics of life and good living. He can only touch emotions of Ugandans to support him in the bid to cause better service delivery by first showing that he as an individual appreciates and stands by such principles that ensure that. Everyone deserves to be happy and feel joy in their hearts and I do not think so many Ugandans feel that, not even those currently in power.

Ugandans have been lied to by the current government for almost 30 years now and in this endeavour of lying, they have been helped by the current opposition in the country and I am sure because of this many Ugandans are looking out for a new opposition figure, because we have been disappointed by the people playing out opposition now. We need a change of almost everything in Uganda and if someone comes out to offer such a promise, I pray that we should support them instead of ridiculing them, looking out for ways on how to tarnish their names and bring them down before they even stand up.

The current government has done so much in teaching Ugandans on how to bring well-meaning individuals down, simply because they want to cling onto power and continue stealing and protecting their loot.

We cannot expect to have a more needed change if we do not change our minds, our thinking and the way we look and perceive things. Aggrey Kiyingi has his personal weaknesses, just like everyone of us, but we should know that he is not a sole team player. He is not going to do and achieve this alone, and he needs you and me to help cause this very necessary over due change in Uganda.

We all need the same thing, but we cannot achieve it when we are playing against each other.

Regards,
