KAMPALA: Relatives and friends of the late Justine Namanda who was a trader in Container Village on Wednesday, March 4 stormed Prison headquarters in Kampala demanding for justice of their colleague who passed on last week following an acid attack.
They accuse Namanda's husband, Mr Sulaiman Kakaire of being behind the attack that led to her death at Mulago national referral hospital. Mr Kakaire also sustained injuries in the same attack and is currently hospitalised at Luzira Prison.
The protestors demanded that Mr Kakaire be produced in court to face justice but Police and Prison officers said he was seriously ill and could not be produced in court.

Last week, traders of container village and the deceased's relatives on hearing that she had died, stormed Mulago Hospital where Mr Kakaire had been admitted, threatening to lynch him. However, he was whisked away to Luzira Prison by police.
It is alleged that on November 16, 2014 Mr Kakaire hired two people; Farouk Walusimbi and Ivan Namanya (key suspects), who are currently under prosecution before Nakawa Magistrates Court to attack his wife, Namanda (deceased) with acid.
Mr Walusimbi and Mr Namanya are said to have named Mr Kakaire as the person who hired them to attack his wife.
When the suspects appeared in court on Wednesday, prosecution told Nakawa Chief Magistrate, Ms Flavia Nassuna that investigations into the case are still going on and asked for more time.
Subsequently, Ms Nassuna adjourned the case to March 18 for possible committal of the suspects to High Court for trial

Justine Namanda (deceased) whose husband, Mr Sulaiman Kakaire is said to have hired people to attack her with acid.
