Ugandan hangs self after Arsenal loss to As Monaco

A middle-aged man in Uganda took a decision to terminate his life after losing Sh16, 500 ($180) in a Uefa Champions League bet.
Deus Ruhinda was a resident of Kakiika in Mbarara district, in western Uganda, but was working in Kasese district in the same region. The deceased on Wednesday went and staked Sh16, 500 on a win for London club Arsenal FC, which lost at home to French side As Monaco in a Uefa Champions League clash.
Ruhinda was a bodaboda cyclist and the money reportedly belonged to his boss in Kasese. Lost on where to begin from, the man travelled back to his home village, to where he had not returned ever since he left six years back.
Upon narrating the big loss, his angry guardians rebuked him for not coming back to see them and vowed not to give him a single penny. At around noon on Friday, Ruhinda was found dangling lifeless on an avocado tree in family banana plantation.
Residents told Chimpreports that after being confronted by his guardians, Ruhinda's mood changed, and would not speak to anyone, save for his grandmother Geturiida Nalongo. His mother and father died a few years back.
The residents also said that the deceased left behind a suicide note, explaining why he committed suicide and requested his relatives to pay his debt.
He indicated in the note that his boss; still unidentified by press time, had handed him the money to clear remain cost of motorcycle he was riding and that he would not afford going back to him to tell him he had lost the money in a bet.
Arsenal lost 3-1 to AS Monaco and are faced with a tall order of reaching last sixteen of the competition when the two sides clash again in return leg after a fornight in Paris.
