I think this is what the natural course of justice should look like:

Here is a Public Accounts Committee that serves as "people's watchman" over how every arm of the government operates and spends public funds, only to be accused of receiving bribes in order to skew its final report.

At minimum, the PAC chairman should he relinquished the chair and ordered a probe into these allegations. Instead, he stayed put, relying on a thin thread to avoid being ousted through member ballots.
