The headline captures the quagmire in which this first-term senator finds himself.

For the Texan senator to sell himself, especially to the leery Conservative wing of the GOP,  both have to admit that President Obama has been a successful president even though Obama cut short his first term in the senate and went for the White House!

And what a background they enjoy: foreign fathers, (Kenyan and Cuban) editors of Harvard Law Review, articulate speakers, and first term senators.
