{UAH} SEMAKULA: Still support the death sentence?

James,
I am hoping that your question does not imply that you are suggesting that they were right to convict an innocent person...in order to have someone pay for the death of little Christopher.
My view is that they should get the person who actually killed little Christopher...but even then, I don't think that the killer should be executed.  I would want them to get a very long prison sentence...if you do not execute  convicted persons, you have a chance to avoid killing an innocent person...the death sentence is not reversible. If you wrongly convict someone, they have a chance to fight back and prove their innocence when circumstances change (better defense lawyers, new evidence comes up, new science, witnesses are caught in lies, prosecutor/police misconduct is discovered, etc). But if you execute someone, the mistakes that surface later cannot help you to undo your mistake!
thanks.
