{UAH} ARE JIHADISTS CRIMINALS OR ISLAMIC TERRORISTS: Attention Rev Paul Mugerwa

Rev Paul Mugerwa,

I am engaged in a debate with Mr Tony Owana, a leading ideologue of
the NRA about what is now commonly referred to as Islamic Terrorism.
Mr Owana argues groups like ISIS, Al Qeada, Boko Haram, Al Shabab and
a host of others are merely criminal outfits who hide behind the
jargon of Islam for criminal purposes. I argue to the contrary, that
these groups are genuine Islamic formations inspired by the ideology
of Islam as chronicled in the Koran. I argue that the fight against
present day terrorism is not just one of law enforcement, but an
intrinisically doctrinal and cultural struggle for the heart of human
civilisation. I recall you posted an article backed by Koranic
quotations which back my assertion that it would be wrong to take the
Owana line that the jihadists are just common criminals because a lot
of what they do is actually sanctioned by Koranic scripture. I can't
retrieve that article in the archives- could you scratch your head and
try to trace it for me please? I am getting very frustrated with
Owana's rather simplistic but dangerously sophoric arguements- this is
a chief ideologue burying his head in the sun for a few crumbs of
comfort for political gain, ie harvesting the muslim vote in 2016 for
his boss.
