we need to discuss this issue vigorously, since I now have a practical solution to the problem.

I am looking out for a practical solution where every single Ugandan can get a house for between Shs 25 – 30 UG million or less.

Africa families are big, therefore 80 m sq is the starting affordable house and if we can buy every 1 m sq let us say at between 80 dollars It implies a 80 m sq house will cost $ 6400 US.  

 

The above amount is equivalent to approximately Shs 20 UG million.

  

Forum should look for an equitable solution to how the youth both graduate and non graduate can be able to afford these houses.

 

My idea is very simple. Everyone must have a house but they must pay for it either as:-

 

1. a rental on a monthly basis 
2. get a four your mortgage  instead of investing in a bodaboda
3. Buy cash down in four installments (3 year period)
4. As a cooperative buy house from 3 – 250 houses using 1, 2 or a combination
5. Or a combination of 1, 2 and 4.

 

Laduma have we got any other scenario you can think of. 

 

If let us say we are in the greater northern region, I will ask the dwellers to get a piece of and we plan it and set up these houses in between 4 days and  two weeks on conditions that the public health act and physical planning act 2010 rules and regulation are fully complied with.
