{UAH} This says something about Sekabaka Muteesa's manners and sense of humor!
Our beloved Buganda King in company with the Queen mother of Great Britain. This lady truly loved the Buganda King ...we are told that she was so heart broken when the palace was attacked. When Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, the late Queen Mother, came to Kampala in 1959, to officiate the opening of the Makerere University library, she was hosted by Ssekabaka Walugembe Muteesa II. Remember it is Buganda Kingdom, which leased and provided lands on Makerere Hill, Kibuga, on which the University was built. Where the Makerere University Ivory Tower building, was buiilt, is where the Kabaka's Ivory market (trade in elephant tusks) used to be based in Kibuga. Leasing those customary Ganda lands on Makerere Hill, Kibuga, to the Government of Uganda caused some controversies, which costed the life of former Katikkiro Nsibirwa.
The tragedy is that when the Kabaka was exiled the Queen Mother could not meet him as he no longer held public office, kingdoms had been abolished in Uganda.According to royal tribute, a civilian can not be around royalty unless he or she partitioned for audience at the royal court. And at that time, our king had lost his title to military forces. He was civilian just like you and me.
2.1971 canoe regatta by Buganda Kingdom. King Mutebi enroute
3.1908 Buganda Kingdom subjects rowing. Canoeing is a big tradition... — at in Uganda.
4.And then it turned all grey when the prosperous kingdom got attacked in 1966. Idi Amin on orders went about it so ruthlessly . Kingdoms were abolished and properties siezed. . So hurtful.
5.There he is Idi Amin portraying his skills.
