{UAH} ALERT; THEFT OF LAND AT ITS HIGHEST
The usual suspects- land grabber- are at it again.
For a second time in five years, the Esmail family is battling land grabbers who, this time, are thirsty for their 183 acres of land in Kyadondo-Nakyesanja.
Knowing all to well that the family is in the process of fencing and redeveloping the property; the fraudsters quickly gathered people from unknown areas and settled them on the property.
The people claim to be squatters and Bibanja holders. When asked for their documentation, the squatters become very violent and have severally attempted to harm those instructed to secure the property.
This same move is being replicated all over Kampala by the same group of fraudster who on the surface are top real estate developers and dealers in Kampala. This mafia click have managed to steal huge chunks of land and sold them to unsuspecting innocent buyers.
Some of their agents recently beat up Vision Group journalist Suleiman Mutebi for filming them. Make no mistake, they are very ruthless and some are government employees abusing their positions.
Their networks extend across the country in land offices. Working with corrupt officials in the lands department, they have identified idle land owned by elderly persons whose relatives are not very concerned, land belonging to people living abroad and even land owned by hard working Ugandans who intend to redevelop them at later stages.
If you have land that you purchased years ago, please quickly get to know the status it is in right now before it is too late.
The Esmail family lives in Canada and only when they decided to redevelop their properties, did they discover this.
Thankfully, the Uganda Police and the some honest officials at the Lands Ministry have been has been very helpful to this family but it is not over. This land mafia group is so very powerful. As senior police officers give orders following the law, somehow, nothing happens.
The details of what is happening at FRV 11-1 Nakyesanja will leave you in shock.
