Her name is Alice Runyutu, a 20-year-old who's currently a student pilot. The beautiful and humble young lady reveals that her passion for flying came from "the love that I have for adventure and traveling."
Her maiden flight was on a Cessna 152 and for her, she found it a really exciting experience;
"I find flying really exciting, fascinating, exhilarating but we cannot ignore the fact that it is challenging," she says.
She believes the aviation industry in Africa lacks enough women and that's why she chose to follow that path. In Kenya, that's also the case.
Alice is definitely following the footsteps of Irene Koki Mutungi, the first African Dreamliner Captain. Irene has gained media attention for her achievement over the past one year, having made a historical breakthrough.
For Alice, her biggest mentor is her dad. She describes him as "loving and caring" and that "his work ethic is beyond everything else."
Alice is currently a student at Ninety Nines Flying School.
