Finally, our famous herbicide 'Round-Up' (Active ingredient: Glyphosate) is not as safe as it claims to be. Now that it is found to behave like 'Oestrogen' and to stimulate growth of 'hormone-dependent breast cancer cells' even in 'parts per million (PPM)' doses. Suspicion has been rife for several years that this thing was 'too good to be true' but with no definite evidence; but now the journal Food and Chemical Toxicology provides new evidence (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23756170) after retracting another article on toxicity of 'glyphosate-ready' maize and soya bean. What will our friends in Monsato say?

some people have been using this herbicide in the tea plantations for the last 6 years. I margin the damage it has caused.
These 'Xenoestrogens' are also implicated in precocious puberty (girls becoming pubertal at a much earlier age (http://www.peaktestosterone.com/Puberty.aspx) and other oestrogen dependent maladies like Uterine Fibroids (http://www.naturalfibroids.com/xenoestrogens-and-uterine.../)

This is the risk inherent in most of these so called scientific breakthroughs. May God help the developing countries (especially Africa) who are mostly consumers and eurocentric in all ramifications.
