Your Excellency, My dear Comrade and fellow Revolutionary,
A PERSONAL NOTE OF THANKS
Let me first thank you for the fruitful visit i had with you and the invaluable advice you gave me on oil exploration and harnessing our oil. As you are aware, we have always depended on Libya to assist us during revolutionary times, Now is the time.
I would like you to be the first to know that i fully intend to stand for a fourth term.
My wife, Mp Ruhama, Janet, likes to say that we are called into service, indeed we are called to service, how many people can bear the pressures that you and i bear? its a difficult job leading people.
Therefore, I am writing because i want you to hear it from me, not the media or anybody else, that i intend to stand for a fourth term, i feel stronger than ever, even though those useless German doctors say that i will not make it, How can Museveni not make it? I made it through the struggle. Who are they to tell me the state of my health?
I have done tremendous things for Uganda and my work is not over yet. No doctor in Germany or in this world is going to tell me otherwise. Surprisingly after my meetings with you, the bishops of Uganda had the audacity to tell me that i must step down. How? step down for who? who leads Uganda? These riotous Baganda? I have to save them from them selves most of the time. Who else? My comrades in the struggle? Wapakabulo is dead, Kategeya is useless, Bukenya is waste of time, so who do they want me to step down for? Mbabazi is A Mukiga? What difference between bakiga and bahutu?
The burden we must bear as leaders in this Africa of ours, is people who lack understanding, Therefore my job is not yet over, Iam strong, despite those Germany opinions. I will lead and the rest shall follow. That is the way it is supposed to be. who are they to tell me otherwise? I Yoweri the son of Kaguta, to step down and let others take over? without me these fellows are nothing.
I look to you, my comrade for support both moral and financial.
