{UAH} Northern Uganda is Awful Poor but.....

We must pull the African out of abject, senseless and awful poverty.

There is a need for a sustained wealth creation in the Northern Part of Uganda in order to generate a cluster of young capitalist. These young people will certainly  act as a catalyst to build and demand for required infrastructure like housing estates, industry and commerical centrs.

If you pour just 7 trillion Uganda shilling here - I can assure you with good planning you will get 35 trillion in less than five years. a shilling for five in return.

One of the formulae is of course to prop up agriculture production - where government should entice foreign grain buyers to set up shop in strategic location of Acoli, Karamoja, West Nile, and Lango.

Another is to pull as many as youth from dirty villages albeit with a better planned strategy.

Can we learn from Mukwano oil seed production?

If government can discuss with the World Food Program, Russia and China to buy off at least 75% of the grain for a period of let us say 2 - 4 years that will be good money input and sensible economics. what happens when they pull out?

Indeed agriculture production is not a very reliable sector given price fluctuation of time.

Definitely this should be accompanied with massive state investment in shopping centres, giving a hand to small commercial trades a shot in the hand to have two legs both in the rural and urban centres. All in all the municipalities need to attract the bulk of small and medium scale services and goods traders in order to increase mobility, trade and disposable incomes. People on the move have better deals.

Issues of Busoga region are basically cultural and they just need some sort of state imposition and stricter regulation regime (Public Health Act) to kick start transformation here excatly as it is in the rest of western and central region and Bunyoro region.
