{UAH} DR KAYONDO AND OCEN THE VULTURES ARE CIRCLING:
Omwami Sekajja;
-- Before I loop down to Kyambogo for our Saturday Maruwa conference, i thought i should share with you and others of course; what seem potentially, a new front in the offing for the opposition.
When an animal in the jungle is in distress or shows sign of distress, the vultures begin to encircle above and as soon as the animal is on the ground, they swoop for the feast. It is not even a week since i stated here that the value of the Shillings is falling like a boulder down the cliff face. In fact, a business friend of mine, an Indian so called investor put it well, when he expressed his worry about the fall, and likening it to dung falling down a very deep pit latrine. I thought it was hilarious!
Omwami Sekajja, it appears the vultures or Hedgefunds have noticed this financial distress in Uganda Shs and are beginning to circling. I would not be surprised if it is their own engineering. But it's a clear sign, they too, want to see change. The issue that i want you and others, including George Okello who is close to the City of London and seem to understand financial mechanism and of course Dr Kayondo and Ocen who have lately taken to bowler huts and pinstripe suit like the Wall Street fellas in their quest for the cost of instituting federalism in Uganda, to mull over, is how the opposition in Uganda can open up this, as a front for good? How are they going to tell Ugandans that they are sleeping walking towards a financial meltdown, courtesy of the NRM? I doubt Akena the UPC man has a clue how financial tsunami affects the economy! Can the opposition take the fight to the government?
Without digressing sir, could future federal Uganda device ways to limit such impact or domino effect on states? Because the way things are, I picture the Governor of the Bank of Uganda, with his hand on the key, waiting for instructions from the Finance minister, who is standing by the window, looking out for signals, when to lock the bank doors shut; in order to stop investors and locals withdrawing their money from the banks as the value of the Shs tumbles.
For my part, my advice to you guys in the diaspora is to be on the look out. If i were you guys, i would be converting my savings in Ugandan banks into dollars or investing it on tangible assets while the exchange rate is good or simply take your money and run. Be very afraid!.
