Government of Uganda clears all the funeral expenses for the former, First Lady, Sarah Kyolaba Amin.

  • Born in 1956
  • Died on Jun 11, 2015

The Masjid mosque at Palmers Green in London was yesterday packed as friends and family gathered to honor the life of former First Lady, Sarah Kyolaba Namutebi Tatu Amin. Sarah died on Jun 11 at the Royal Free Hospital. The mom of five died of cancer complications.

At the service, the High Commissioner of Uganda to the United Kingdom Prof. Joyce Kakuramatsi talked about how Sarah lived her life so well.

"I wish to thank you all for turning up in big numbers to bid farewell to our beloved First Lady, sister, mother and friend. As you are aware, the Government of Uganda through the High Commission in London has been working very closely with the bereaved family to have the body of our sister repatriated to Uganda where she will be accorded a befitting farewell, a befitting burial."

The packed Mosque was filled with communities from Uganda, Rwanda, Nigeria and Congo among others. Paul Kakaire, a close friend to Sarah Amin told mourners that the deceased left with all her husband's secrets and no amount of money could make her reveal anything to the media about her late husband, Idi Amin Dada.

Her remains are being flown to Uganda this Thursday for burial over the weekend, May her soul rest in peace.
