{UAH} UPC poll commission rejects Akena elections

Folks;

Picture this:

As election results start to filter in, supporters of one candidate start celebrating his "victory", before the duly-constituted Electoral Commission received all results from all polling districts, let alone tally and verify the results.

Sounds like 1980? And the candidate is Paulo Kawanga Ssemogerere? And the party is DP?

Actually, it's 2015 and the candidate is Akena Adoko, whose father emerged the victor against the said Ssemogerere under slightly similar circumstances 35 years ago.

This time, though, Akena had the services of his equally abrasive wife, MP Amongi and a bunch of like-minded MPs at the head of a mob that stormed their party's head office, held Electoral Commissioners and staff hostage, while demanding that they declare Akene the undisputed winner of the elections.

Nothing in this scenario endears UPC to outsiders, or Akena to the wider family of UPC members.
