They have taken away our - Acoli, Itesot, Langi and Karamojong milk cows and bulls.

I think, the likes of Ndugu Okurut, OCEN and Okeya Gwokto will support me on this!

Again, once when one of my Mukoo, Col. MANDE told us here in the conference at the

African Institutes, that Commander Sejusa aka Tinyefunza took many cattle from both

Northern and Eastern Uganda.

But, when he confided to his Chief Commander M7, the Chief again accused him of 

spoiling the names of his brothers in the war front. In no time the game was over!

Both Tinyefunza aka Sejusa and some top hero of genocide in that region got him

under fire whereby he MANDE must be transferred to Tanzania as Military attache!

The taxation policy in our country is so unfair. The milk traders are even given red number plates while the farmer of pineapples in Kayunga has black number plates meaning he pays more taxes. If Mbarara is more developed.Why is it still giving us less taxes?The answer my be in intended tax evasion promoted by the state.Muliika once even tribalised the issue.While in a meeting,he said even in Kampala and Wakiso,there are those who are exempted from taxes.Does anyone remember the story of Nandos?It was paying taxes only when it wished till the Mbabazi-Museveni fall out.

Most of those milk coolers used by those farmers were bought using tax payers money.The coolers are expensive.Surprisingly,the same government has no money to buy Luwero fruit farmers fruit processing machines which are less expensive.

The taxation minds about people doing formal businesses. Even another farmer with 400acres of tea plantation doesn't even know what a Tin No is.Also government needs to be present in farms. Many farmers do not see any government relevancy. There's no agriculture extention, no veterinary service and farmers have to depend on their own knowledge then a government shows up wanting a tax after we've hustled. On top of that corruption just makes some of us feel like changing citizenship.

A boda boda guy who earns 30k a day gets 900k tax free while a secretary earning 200k pays her 60k. And in my view, salaries should be taxed AFTER NSSF deductions not before. Otherwise you pay 30%+ on the contribution and get forced to invest in something that gives you far less in interest and which you can't even be sure will be there when you are 55 years old.

In the olden days, there was this song recorded having been played on Thumb guitar, in Luganda, "Atanawa musolo ng'alabye ennaku..." loosely translated, Pity unto whoever has not paid their due tax(es). It was shameful not to pay, or to fail to pay taxes. These days, pity is unto whoever has paid taxes, and for sometime now, I sing that song in reverse whenever I (am forced to) report to Kagina's former premises.
