  • Edmund Lubega Abbey Kibirige Semuwemba let's not waste our time and resources on a sell out. We want autonomy or independence for Buganda. If he wants to go and propagate NRM hegemony-he's on his own.

  • Nsubuga Tanansi Ahmed you want to go to parliament to advocate for more constituencies and therefore more mps when we already have a bloated parliament.why do we have to increase Government expenditure to be borne by myself .we need about 100 mps who should be eminent people who are ready to work for a token other than sending needy people who are going to milk us dry and also sell out!

  • Mary Kelly Most Ugandans want Change BUT Do not want to Change?????!!! Oh Uganda May God Uphold thee!
  • Abbey Kibirige Semuwemba Mary Kelly Sometimes we have got to be tactical about the change you aspire to get, and supporting moderate NRMs is one of those strategies. Let us be different from Museveni: hating someone because of their political affiliations.
  • Mary Kelly Yeah? You have a point Abbey Kibirige Semuwemba but what stops those Moderate NRM's from getting out off there and join us since we seem to want same things?
  • Abbey Kibirige Semuwemba Mary Kelly Before Wafula Oguttu became an MP, he was very active on UAH. He stopped the moment he got into parliament, and up to now, im still wondering why. So, we can register that one as a disappointment........Ahmed Katerega, on the otherhand, has been a rock for us in all ways possible. It would be unfair if we dont lend him a hand at the time of need. Nobody knows what's gonna happen to Museveni or NRM tomorrow, but we want to have sane minds inside there when that moment comes. Like one writer once said:'There are no absolute certainties in this universe. A man must try to whip order into a yelping pack of probabilities, and uniform success is impossible."
  • Abbey Kibirige Semuwemba Edmund LubegaStrategic planning must always give way tactical realities. Some of the Kiiza Besigye Kifefe supporters are now supporting Amama Mbabazi. Not because they have fallen out of love with the former, but because tactically Mbabazi is likely to help the opposition weaken NRM, thus, making it a bit easy for the opposition to ride through. Now, whether that tactic works or not, it's another issue, but you have always got to be strategic in politics.
  • Mary Kelly Okay..I personally want cripple NRM....30 years of Failed Programmes is Enough for me. I see No future with them .I am sorry I like Ahmed Katerega as a person but I see no Point in Feeding the Mon-ester Killing us. I would Advise him to Go to Parliament as an Independent! That too works and leaves his Political Career intact.

  • Abbey Kibirige Semuwemba Mary Kelly That's easy to say for people who have not critically followed up the 'kumanyako' politics under Museveni. You don't win an election in Uganda because you are popular. You win an election because you are controlling the system, and being in NRM certainly helps. Why do you think the Amama Mbabazis of this world are clinging to a party they scorn? Its because NRM controls who wins and loses in our elections. Actually, the few oppositions in parliament are there on the mercy of the NRMs.....That's why we need to engage the issue now. Trying to buy time does nothing for us. If it means having 100 'opposition' MPs as NRMs, let it be, and see how the strategy works. Sometimes you have got to pretend to be a friend to your enemy to get food and water to survive, love!
  • Abbey Kibirige Semuwemba Kimbowa Santos:It's all about compromises. Yes, it sucks from a political perspective, but if it can be tied to genuine commitments to move ourselves in the direction of better leadership, fighting within and parliamentary efficiency,it is a worthwhile trade off.
  • Mary Kelly Abbey Kibirige Semuwemba, if NRM controls all those who WIN, what is the Point of an Election? Compromises and under hand Politics has been killing Ugandans since independence....I thought that is what we are struggling to Change! Museveni took Advantage of DP in 1980 Rode on their Backs to Power and where is DP Now in Our Politics? If we want to Win, It must be Clear Cut Clean Win not lame Win based on Compromises which we already know will never work. Unless of Course it is NRM's tactful way of Weakening a unified Opposition! NRM fears a Unified Ugandan Populace against them! This time around, We do not want compromises, We do not want Kingdoms, No Districts, No Roads or Bridges where there are No Rivers! We want Change from NRM Policies and Dirty Politics! We Want Forge away forward for the Common Good of All Ugandans!!! Not A few People.
  • Edmund Lubega OK you say he's a voice of reason in NRMO. What values has he championed for that we care about (hint: any answer without federalism is invalid)

  • Edmund Lubega So you are saying that if we can't beat them we should join them?
  • Abbey Kibirige Semuwemba Mary Kelly Good questions! Yes, there's no point of an election in Uganda under Museveni, and If you have been following my posts, I'm not even for the 2016 presidential elections. But somebody advised me that the participation of the opposition in the...See More

  • Mary Kelly Thank you but I do not believe in direct Support of NRM if We are battling to remove it. That won't Work! Those Opposing the dictatorship should be able to Do so Clearly and Strongly. If we have the double standar Approach, the Dictatoprship will Never Move. That is Why Museveni has manged to Stay in Power for 30 years! He uses people's Weaknesses to Manipulate and Control them!

  • Edmund Lubega Abbey Kibirige Semuwemba this may be a bit over my head to grasp. I am a bit sceptical of complicated approaches. We just end up confusing everyone and diluting the message. If he means well I wish him luck but when you go with NRM you go it alone. Sorry.

  • Edmund Lubega I had toyed with a similar idea where I had proposed Baganda could support NRMO on condition the NRMO flag bearer is a Muganda. Am I tribalistic? Maybe I have spent too much time in Botswana and South Africa, where tribalistic politics is mainstream.
  • Abbey Kibirige Semuwemba Mary Kelly That approach isnt gonna work on Museveni, and its precisely the reason why he has been in power for nearly 30 years. He plays his cards very well as the opposition concentrates on one approach to the game. Museveni is only afraid of people that think like him, and frankly I dont think there are many in the opposition. Look,we can cut and run, which would be horrible.Or we can drag it out and strategise about all this, which would be, in my opinion, a better way of doing things. What u must know is that not everybody in NRM is a Musevenist. I suppose some have been in there for 20-30 years and planning for a way to kick Museveni's ass, and I think you are seeing the fruits.

  • Edmund Lubega I don't know. It's a dicey one. I wonder how possible it is to deal with this man without being compromised.
  • Mary Kelly How many Mp's....355 MPs? and yet they have Never managed to Strongly Oppose any Bad laws Museveni and NRM ushered? What does that tell us? MR< needs to go! No compromises!

  • Abbey Kibirige Semuwemba Edmund Lubega I guess that's a risk an individual has to take and be willing to pay a price for!
  • Abbey Kibirige Semuwemba Mary Kelly I hold my hand up: Your last bit scares me about the '355 mps'.........but you see im looking at this in a different way, and i really hope you see things from my perspective.I suppose that might not mitigate direct opposition to some of the bad policies, such as POMA, but a quiet obedient wife does not usually translate into love for the husband, does it?
  • Mary Kelly Abbey Kibirige Semuwemba, to be quite Honest, I wouldn't trust anyone who has been in NRM for 30 Years trying to kick his behind That is just a sign of Weakness! How many of such people are in NRM? How many Museveni's are there? That is just a White Political Lie right there! Museveni will go if we tell him Clearly and Loudly Enough of your BS!!! No smiling and laughing at his stupid jokes!
  • Abbey Kibirige Semuwemba By the way, the quiet obedient wives tend to be more dangerous than the 'NALUKALALA' because nobody detects them when they are admnistering slow poison for their husbands!
  • Mary Kelly Abbey Kibirige Semuwemba, I rest my case but I will Never see your way and Compromise! It is All or Nothing with me! About Wives....I do not administer Slow Poison! I tell you to your face, Get out of my Life and Stay out!!!....wink emoticon
