Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) president Maj. Gen. (rtd) Mugisha Muntu on Friday handed over office as he starts his campaigns for party's presidency flag bearer in 2016 polls.
Muntu handed over the office to Aswa County Member of Parliament Reagan Okumu in accordance with the party Constitution which sets this as a requirement. Okumu is the the substantive party vice chaiperson for Northern Uganda.
Okumu confirmed that he had been given the enormous task to head the party for 2 months as Muntu traverses the country to meet the party delegates to convince them to vote him against former Party president Kizza Besigye.
"FDC Party president has handed over to me to act as Party president for the next two months as he goes to campaign. Muntu and Besigye are our two candidates for our in house election. I would like to appeal to all FDC members to give them all the support and that is our FDC democracy. We shall give Uganda what we have and practice," Okumu said.
He congratulated both for the successful nominations.
