{UAH} PAC members of Bunyoro-Kitara districts conclude a two-day Workshop at Hoima Kolping Hotel.

The Workshop funded by USAID and UKAID was convened by GAPP, Governance,Accountability,Participation and Performance Program.

This is a seven-year program which kicked off with Bunyoro-Kitara districts, Hoima, Kibaale, Masindi, Buliisa amd Kiyrandongo being the first Region in which the series of workshops are to take place.

The training in the workshops is emphasising many key points all aimed at ensuring honesty, accontability, and intergrity in the acquisition and expenditure of public funds which is a good practice in democratic governance in any democracy like Uganda.

Public Accounts Committees (PACs) are hinged on the principle of Checks and balances in Governance. The doctrine of Checks and balance is a balancing influence by which demoncratic systems are regulated, by ensuring that power is not concentrated in the hands of a few individuals or groups.

Participants included PAC members, Chief Administrative officers(CAOs)District  Internal Auditors, and other  district finance officers.
The Workshop facilitators based their training on a Wokshop 165-page Handbook which contatins all the guidelines LGPAC must follow.

The seven-member training team was led by Group leader Onya Okebe seen in pictures while training participants.
