Video of Dr. Kizza Besigye's interview with The Black Star News when he visited New York City on June 25. He discussed Ugandan politics heading towards the next election. He says an election should only be held after Electoral Reforms occur; otherwise Gen. Museveni should just serve out his term and let a transitional govt organize and conduct free and fair elections. He says Mr. Mbabazi should expose any information he knows about how Gen. Museveni has been subverting attempts @ democratic reforms through the years. He says Ugandans can also discuss some form of clemency/pardon for Gen. Museveni if Gen. Museveni lays everything on the table (as part of truth & reconciliation as was done in South Africa) and is fearful for his security and that of his family when he's no longer in power. He says U.S. is wrong for nursing dictatorship since other Ugandan leaders would also be willing to work with U.S. with respect to fighting terrorism in the region.
