SV: {UAH} Ocen, WBK//UNEB charges politician 8X more to verify certificates
No, no, no La Kitgum, you don't tell them you are a foreign Uganda: THEY SEE IT ON YOUR FACE!!!!
They see it on the way you talk, behave......, on your whole own self!!
Rest assured, direct from Entebbe Airport ( if you use that entrance), prices goes up
for you every where. EVEN AT THE MARKETS!!!
Trust me, I tested it and got amused. I WAS BUYING THIS MAIZE AT LUNYA MARKET AND THE LADY TOLD ME 5000
EACH. There were some young boys other sellers around her. They bursted in laughter.
The lady openly told them: " Shut up, don't spoil my business. Don't you see he is from Europe?
He does not even know how to count money! I have seen him walk around with his Muzung wife. We like
him very much andhis wife is always talking to all the kids..".
At Gulu market it was even worst. But I loved them very much those ladies. We communicated very well. My brother and I
go there even when we did not really intend to buy anything. They were grand. We bought a lot that we were not even going to cook.
My brother told them he was buying merely to support them.
They liked us a lot and each time we showed up, they even called our names and gave us a litle some teaching on how
to cook the stuffs.
They too said it out " aha we know you are from outside. We have eyes.".
Back in Kampala we tested it by sending some one else to buy while we stood aside and waited.
'Then we asked for the same...., automatically the prices went up!!
But this one in context about the UNEB is really not motivated.
Noc'la gaumoy
"WE FORM THE CULTURE THAT FORMS US"….noc'la gaumoy.

Edward Pojim,I also fail to understand why there is no explanation given. The decision to increase fees needs to be backed with a plausible explanation; and I do not see what reason can justify the "eight fold" increase. Our country is really shocking to us; one time I wanted to update my files in Uganda, surprisingly I was directed to the National Council for Higher Education to verify my papers; out of curiosity and partly to meet some Kyambogo University colleagues, I decided to go; after checking what I had, a jovial secretary asked me to pay Shs.1,000,000.00; I looked at her and asked if I had heard her well and she said that was the fee.I laughed at the whole thing and told her that I was not looking for a job in Uganda so that can wait for the future, she tried to convince me to do it then; I told her that whoever wanted to verify my papers can just do so by a click of a button and off I left.Peter Simon

--Folks;Why is UNEB getting away with this broad day robbery? While everyone else pays shs. 35,000 to get examination results verified, prospective candidates for political office are being charged shs. 270,000!This is sheer fee gauging, targeted at a specific group. Moreover, UNEB is not offering an plausible reason for this exorbitant charges. For example, if the additional charges were to defray costs associated with shortening the time for the verification, I would probably allow it. But, no, there's explanation forthcoming.Could this heavy cost of paper verification be aimed at weeding out "poor" candidates?Pojim

very high education. We can call Obote all bad names we have, but the bottom line remains that he got more scholarships for Buganda than all previous Uganda leaders combined. That includes Sir Edward Mutesa, President Lule, President Binayisa, up to and into Ssabasajja Mutebi. Who all happen to be Baganda leaders." Mulindwa
