SV: {UAH} Paying dowry the Luo way: choppers, guzzlers colour Meru town

Akim,
Why are you avoiding?
And all I am saying is, IT IS NOT THEIR BUSINESS WHAT THE FELLA OTHIENO
CHOOSES FOR A GIRL FRIEND OR WIFE AND EVEN LESS SO, HOW HE DECIDES TO BURN HIS PURSE
AS LONG AS HE IS NOT BREAKING ANY LAW OR LUO CUSTOMS ( In the event they still matter in these circumstances).

Laduma;

The question thus; What are Luo women saying about this trend as it has been described? Are they happy or concerned? You also said it is mostly a one way street, Luo men marrying Meru women and not vice versa. Is it approaching proportion where successful men of African descent opt for a muzungu woman immediately never mind background apart from being muzungu.? I suppose you know where I am going with this.
is loaded and requires more than this.

What business do "LUO GIRLS / WOMEN" in general have with it?
They can go hang.          Really? What uncaring attitude.

That is all I am saying.

Good morning!

Akim,
What do you make the object and subject in topic?

I missed the part Luo girls insisted on marrying OTIENO. Did Jared Otieno propose to two girls
at a go and only organised the introduction of this one in MERU?

Help me out how the sentiments of colective Luo girls suddenly became so relevant.

LAduma;

You clearly care very little about the Luo.  What business do "LUO GIRLS / WOMEN" in general have with it?
They can go hang.
One of the reasons why Luo insist on marriage, is to stop their daughters from being turned into concubines or prostitutes. But that does not seem to align with your thinking. Very sad indeed!

They can go hang. The guy made his choice.
In the 1970s Kenyan girls were mad at marriage-braker" Ugandan girls hurtling out of YWCA
hostel. But they soon learnt the bitter way about love clicking.

WHILE YOU GUYS ARE AT IT, how about this African-American man buying this Swedish car
for 30 million kronor!!!!? Just one car!!

40 miljoner kronor.

Paying dowry the Luo way: choppers, guzzlers colour Meru town

Jared K Otieno with Kendi Mwiti
Meru was abuzz with excitement on August 15, 2015 when 4 choppers landed at Dr. Mwiti's home as Jared Otieno went to pay dowry.
Thanks to the affluent man from the Lakeside City, Meru town was 'a hotbed' of expensive cars as his moneyed friends escorted him to his fiancée's family home.
Jared had gone to seal the deal with Kendi Mwiti's parents just two months after he spent Ksh15, 000, 000 for an extravagant pre-wedding party in Ndhiwa, Nyanza.
The party was a carnival of expensive delights, and even the region's political elite were in attendance.
Jared went all out for the ceremony, and he even hired pricey corporate MC Jalango to host the function. Speaking to a local daily, Jalango said that Jared's party brought Ndhiwa to a standstill.
"I trust this will be the wedding of the year. You should have seen the convoy of 18 Range Rovers and the Porsche Cayenne Jared was driven in. Literally, Ndhiwa came into a standstill. All hotels had been booked by the Meru team and we had to sleep in the cars. The cheapest drink was Black Label," Jalang'o, the MC of the day, told a local daily.
In late May, Jared gave his fiancée the keys to their six-bedroom house – an act which symbolised she had graduated from a girlfriend to a wife.
Otieno is expected to wed his flame Kendi Mwiti – the daughter of Dr Mwiti who is a popular scholar from Meru, in October, 2015.

very high education. We can call Obote all bad names we have, but the bottom line remains that he got more scholarships for Buganda than all previous Uganda leaders combined.
