Kampala.

President Museveni will on Sunday meet all judges at State House, Entebbe, Daily Monitor has learnt.

According to a highly placed source in the Judiciary that preferred anonymity, the meeting is intended to brief the Head of State on the current status of the third arm of government and also address the alleged growing infighting.
The meeting had initially been scheduled at the beginning of this month but the President was involved in other state engagements.

Reacting to the President's planned meet with the judges, shadow justice minister Medard Sseggona said the whole arrangement is 'suspicious' and 'disturbing'.
"This is disturbing, actually, it's suspicious. The Judiciary has got its head called the Chief Justice and he is responsible for its administration," said Mr Sseggona in a telephone interview last evening.

Minister for Presidency Frank Tumwebaze said he was up-country and was not aware of the meeting.
Efforts to reach Uganda Media Centre boss Ofwono Opondo last evening were futile as he did not answer our repeated calls.
