Let's Celebrate The Left-Handed Leaders Who Have Made A Mark On America

Thursday is International Left Handers Day, where we celebrate those among us whose dominant hand is their left. 

Although only one out of 10 Americans identifies as a lefty,roughly two out of 10 presidents are left-handed -- a number that includes former President James Garfield, who is thought to have been ambidextrous.

In addition, two of the nine current Supreme Court justices are left-handed.

Created in 1996, International Left Handers Day brings awareness to the difficulties of being a lefty in a mostly all-right world, according to the International Business Times. 

Here are some of the left-handed political figures who have changed America:
