Now just to append this beginning, allow me put it blank so you don't get ideas....:

IN 1957, IF I WERE LEGIBLE TO VOTE IN UGANDA THEN, I WOULD VOTED EITHER UNC / UPC OR DP.

IN 1961, I WOULD MOST PROBABLY VOTED UPC because that would have been upon basis of struggle for independence vanguard.

IN THE ELECTION THAT WAS DUE IN 1967, I would again have voted UPC because they had managed the transition from colonial rule to

Ugandan rule well.

IN THE ELECTION THAT WAS DUE IN 1971, I would have voted either blank or not at all because the UPC had manipulated and single handedly turned Uganda into a one party state.

Now, IN MODERN TIME ELECTIONS, WHY WOULD I VOTE UPC? Simply because they were at the vanguard of the struggle for independence?

Of course not. Time has changed and so are the challenges. They have to exibit engagement for our times reality.

Take up policies that belong.

So, as a UPC, wouild you convince us?

In your shoes, I would probably have first, dug deep to find out if the situation actually existed that warranted or triggered the dismay. Mr WBK asked you the question but you declined to reply.

And if they did, why would it have been wrong for the affected to agitate for their cause? Recall that someone once put it here on UAH that he (don't recall who) advised that the late Gen Basilio (or was it Tito?!) be killed but that his advice was ignored? So, what did that tell you about de facto state of affairs?

You see, after the grievances transpired, the malpractices were fairly rectified (though not fully resolved) and many other categories started getting better considerations, assistance and scholarships. 

Thanks to the noble agitation. It benefitted many, so to say.

I guess that answers your little bit of some worries. Oh, appropå scholarships under the NRM regime, that is now your bag, you know. It is our load. My old man was just a human of blood and flesh who could not be at prime a whole life time. Now they have relayed it over to you.

When someone beasts you, you have to shout instead of persevering while simultaneously back tickling ala "Rwot ineka". You see, the same situation recurred in Obote 2?!? But, if change is what Ugandan voters want, then Hon Mbabazi would not be the right person for me to vote for.

From Official sources,it is Mbabazi who is causing confusion in TDA

and yet this article is accusing your brother Otto for being used by M7 

in consort with Besigye to disorganize TDA.

Is this all about the paranoia that is prevalent in Uganda or just another 

attempt by the Nkores on the TDA summit to shut out Besigye who we 

are informed is a Muhororo?

Museveni Paid Odonga Otto To Destabilize TDA, Says Miria Matembe

Miria Matembe, an official of The Democratic Alliance, has charged MP Odonga Otto of being President Yoweri Museveni's merchinery out to destabilize the opposition coalition.

Odonga Otto has behaved strangely lately. He led a crowd of Acholi who demonstrated against John Patrick Amama Mbabazi's when he announced he would hold consultative meetings in the region, going on to burn what they called the coffin of the former prime minister.

 

Now Matembe says Odonga Otto, who is an FDC member, was the ringleader of what she called " Museveni's goons" who stormed the TDA meeting in Bugoloobion Thursday and dragged out Dr Kizza Besigye claiming the coalition sides with Mbabazi.

" Odonga Otto is on Museveni's payroll to destabilize TDA. Museveni is scared of a united TDA. He has bought goons to destabilize us," Matembe, who served in Museveni's government claimed.

 

Asked by CBS Radio journalist Alex Nsubuga on allegations that Mbabazi has  bought out TDA to rubberstamp his sole candidature, Matembe vehemently denied it.

 

" Museveni has more money than Mbabazi. Why have I or anybody of the TDA officials not succumbed to his bribes. It's not true," she roundly denied the charge.

Miria Matembe hasaccused MO Otto for distabilizing TDA

TDA officials are locked in a marathon meeting to elect who between Mbabazi ,Besigye, Prof Gilbert Baalibaseka Bukenya and Norbert Mao stand the best chance of defeating Museveni in the 2016 elections.

 

The stiff competition is between Mbabazi and Besigye. While Mbabazi has insisted to be a member of the ruling NRM party, it has been reported that majority of TDA officials favor him ahead of Besigye.

 

TDA were supposed to make the most critical decision of who will be its flag bearere yesterday, but left the meeting without making it.

 

The torch bearer issue aside ,TDA is also faced with the live-wire decision of either allowing Lord Mayor Lukwago's Truth and Justice Platform to join them which the mainstream party has warned will see them pulling out of the coalition.

 

Meantime, TDA do not have the luxury of time. Vetting of candidates by the electoral commission starts on Monday while nominations kicks off on October 4 an ends on 5.
