The Inspector General of Police, Gen Kale Kayihura has made yet another shake-up in the police command, shifting senior commanders from upcountry areas to Kampala.
SP Geoffrey Kahebwa has been moved from Kabarole, where he helped crush Tooro youth groups seeking the forceful return of the Kingdom's properties from government, to Kampala.
Kahebwa is now the deputy Regional Police Commander for Kampala Metropolitan South.
At the time of his transfer, Kahebwa had started growing unpopular due to his high handedness in dealing with dissent.When youth loyal to rebel Tooro Prince David Kijanangoma rose up in arms against King Oyo Nyimba, Kahebwa used force to contain them.
SP Mission Samuel has been transferred from Bundibugyo, a flashpoint area of tribal conflicts and appointed DPC Katwe.
ASP Henry Kisubi who has been in acting position as OC Station, Katwe, effectively retains his substantive post.
Katwe area is known as a hub of criminals which operate along Entebbe highway. The military police is normally called in to put thugs in the area to order.
In Dr Kizza Besigye's area of Kasangati, Gen Kayihura has maintained SP James Kawalya as DPC while ASP Henry Buyondo has been confirmed as OC Station.
The new commanders brought to Kampala will serve under the command of Abbas Byakagaba, a counter terrorism expert as the country prepares for the 2016 elections.
ASP Salaama remains DPC, Nsangi.
ASP Edward Edyegu has been named DPC Jinja after serving for some time as OC Station Nakumatt Road.
ASP Frantile Rwamusayi who has been Acting DPC Jinja is now OC Station Jinja Road.
ASP Aaron Baguma is now DPC, Kampala Central Police Station.
ASP Fred Ahimbisibwe has been moved from Kakiri and appointed DPC Mukono, while Abraham Tukunda who been in acting capacity at Mukono is under instructions to report to Director Human Resource Department.
ASP Benard Katwalo takes charge as DPC Wakiso whereas his predecessor ASP Timothy Ndahula will report to Human Resource Directorate for further management.
ASP Boniface Kinyera has been confirmed as DPC, Nagalama.

ASP MUCUNGUZI JACKSON IS APPOINTED CHIEF SECURITY OFFICER, MAKERERE UNIVERSITY,
ASP AMPAIRE BRIAN WHO HAS BEEN ACTING DPC, WANDEGEYA IS CONFIRMED
ASP OCHAMURINGA EMMANUEL WHO HAS BEEN ACTING, DPC OLD KAMPALA IS CONFIRMED
