HORRIFIC! Prisoners eat dead bodies to survive inside Gitaram Jail Rwanda

Kigali: There have been many instances when one might have heard about prisoners committing suicide inside jail or dying after indulging in a fierce fight with another convict. A similar incident comes into light from a jail in Rwanda, where prisoners kill each other however after that; they feed themselves on the dead so as to survive inside the deadliest prison. Well, this is very scary!

After hearing this, one can imagine how hard it is for a prisoner to stay inside the Gitaram jail. Reports are that the jail has a capacity to accommodate nearly 600 convicts, however as many as 6-7 thousand inmates are locked inside the jail.

The number of prisoners inside is so high that many of them spend time standing. Also, nearly, 7-8 prisoners die every day over fights and what is horrific is that their bodies are being eaten up and consumed by the other prisoners so as to survive inside the jail.

The prisoners, due to the pathetic state inside the jail suffer from various diseases one of them being gangrene because of staying barefoot for long time.

Many Human Right Organisations have raised the issue of their terrible condition; however they have not come up with any solution.
