Tense of fighting reported in Garbahaarey after former Gedo governor with heavily armed loyalist militiamen reached the town on Monday morning, residents said.
Residents in Garbahaarey surprised the return Mohamed Abdi Kaliil to the city, where a new admin appointed by Jubbaland leader Ahmed Madobe is now in charge of the town's rule, with the support of Ethiopian troops.
Pro-Kaliil protesters gathered at his new residence in the town as they were chanting slogans against Jubbaland and Ethiopian forces in Garbahaarey, the capital of Gedo region, reports said.
Following standoff, Ethiopian troops have been forced to withdraw from the house of Mohamed Abdi Kaliil by angry residents. Ethiopians squared the area off for several hours in the morning to eject the sacked governor from the town.
The tension of Garbahaarey triggered when soldiers belonging to Jubbland administration and Ethiopian troops have denied Mr Kaliil and his private army entry into the town last night.

That includes Sir Edward Mutesa, President Lule, President Binayisa, up to and into Ssabasajja Mutebi. Who all happen to be Baganda leaders." Mulindwa
