SV: {UAH} EMPTY INDEPENDENCE GESTURE!
Akim & GOOK,
What kind of debaters are you? I asked questions for Akim to clarify but he doges with tail between the legs.
What is the context, anyway? Instead of being factual and holding on to the context, you jump to derail.
See the headline? Laduma did not write that. Laduma merely desired that Mr Akim shed light on how on going infrastructure
development is not development.
How the independence gesture is empty, so to say. I read the piece by Proof. Ogenga-Latigo. Perhaps Akim could revisit that
and come with factual comments? Or is it a matter of who is saying something instead of what is being said?
Next time you come with an issue of public character, be better substantially prepared to answer questions.
For now, no further comments until when you are capable of being factual and holing on to the context. It is not so much desired, is it?
I am on it when you are ready to be factual.

Gook;
That is where i differ from Laduma. If its all about his family then he and i are not in the same boat. Mine is collective success. I want Acholi and the whole of Uganda to succeed together, that way, we end up with a society that is respectful of humans rather than wealth and power.
Gook Unfortunately, the world is being filled by the sort of mentality that Laduma exhibits to the extent that even a known thief is worshiped only because he got away with his loot and therefore worthy of respect. It matters less how you acquire your wealth and power but acquire it nevertheless. The end result of such mentality, is what we see of Uganda. A crook ennobled through the act crime and getting away with it!.

Why because you value the lives of our people less than others. i find it terribly painful that a person so exposed such as yourself cannot tell that Ugandan are in an open prison that no one can do anything without consequences; that there is one rule for some and another rule for others. This brings about inertia, one you have failed to realise.Laduma, the Gulu you grew up in was orderly and respectful. The Gulu of today is shabby and disorderly. The poverty you grew up in, was tolerable but the current poverty is dehumanising. This is across the country. For a sitting president to come and yet again promise what he did promise fifteen years ago and not challenged on the broken one, clearly shows that the speaker and the audience are at best nonchalant or at worse deranged.There is no sensible development taking place in Acholi that one can write to Bujumbura about. But there is hope. Come 20/20, Acholi will be ushered into a new era. Whether you will be there to see it or not, does not matter. Its fete acompli.Akim--Tolerance is a stage in civilisation!On Mon, Oct 12, 2015 at 3:29 PM, 'gaumoy nockrach-laduma' via Ugandans at Heart (UAH) Community <ugandans-at-heart@googlegroups.com> wrote:--Akim,Tell us news.You say: "......The transformation of the Greater north must be led and carried out by the inhabitants of the region. --People;The recent posturing and grandiose talk by Mu7 in Gulu town must not be taken seriously. The transformation of the Greater north must be led and carried out by the inhabitants of the region. It's they who know what is good for them and not a leader who has run out of ideas, promises and usefulness. The north is strategically placed and embraces three national borders, which are all potential markets. This transformation cannot be achieved under the current regime. The way to achieve this is through federalism; a system that will allow the Greater north to achieve its vast potential and transform the region from a hub of poverty to an oasis of wealth and order. This is possible within a very short time but the mechanism to achieve is through regional governance in form of federalism. And so by getting our priority right, the Greater north will not reach its potential.Our first priority to greatness is to achieve federalism. This system will give voice and authority to the people of Greater north in order to determine, decide and implement what is beneficial to the people and region of Greater north. With the current arrangement this is not possible. It still remains for the president to articulate what is good for the Greater north. The very reason he was able to stand in the heart of the region and make yet again, more promises and grandiose gesture. The greater north does not need that.Our second priority is determine authority and responsibilities. This is the division and limits to power held within the region and the country at large. This must be spell out clearly, understood and observed. Uganda since independence has never stood still because this second priority was not got right. Amassing and abuse of power has been the major cause of the country's ailment and to this day, the raw wound still hemorrhage fresh blood because power and authority was never understood or properly distributed . Even with federalism in place, without getting the second priority right, the big dream will simply turn into nightmare.Our third priority will be to empower the people of Greater north to take responsibility of themselves and immediate surround. The people should be able to take the responsibility of self development, as an important aspect of the federal agenda. Development should begin from self and farther out. This should include but not least to education, awareness, responsibilities and ownership. This way, people will communally be responsible for all their surrounding and beyond in order to have pride and take ownership.These are the first step towards building a Greater State within a short time and it's one those who want to see their region and the country transformed should embrace not grand posturing by an individual whose time has run out but standing on the way of an idea whose time has come. Ugandans in general must bury the dying and prepare to nurture the birth of anew. The people from the Greater north must join the rest of Ugandans to do the same. Standing in expectation that a regime of thirty years can still develop the region under the current system of governance is lazy, delusional and irresponsible.AkimTolerance is a stage in civilisation!
