She was the brain behind President Museveni's sole candidature when the NRM had a retreat in Kyankwanzi. Evelyn Anite even earned a ministerial post as State Minister for Youth. But this did not deter the people of Koboko from saying "NO". The preliminary reports coming in from Koboko indicate that Anite was still trailing in the results collected so far.
Her fate, despite her famous kneeling at Kyankwanzi was decided during the NRM party Primaries for the newly created Koboko Municipality where she lost.
Anite wife to former Kampala Central RDC Allan Kajik, also known as Museveni's child was the former Northern Uganda Youth MP. She is a journalist cum-politician who wanted to try out veteran politician Babadiri until a new constituency was created (Koboko Municipality) to cater for her interests. But reports we gather indicate that the elders and local in Adakado Village in Koboko (Where she hails from) were not happy when Anite tried to tussle it out with Baba Diri. Though the new constituency was created, the elders were "irked" and promised to put her where she belongs. It is not long when they said this, and on Tuesday October 27 their promise become reality.
Her rise to stardom
Anite's rise to politics was surprising, at least to many who know her. The former Arua One Radio presenter (Relationship show host), and NRM caucus spokesperson stunned many when she put a motion that Museveni stands as sole candidate.
It is her popular show at Arua one during her Senior Six vacation that prompted her to pursue journalism course at the Uganda Christian University in Mukono.

During her recess at UCU, Kampalans remember her for her tough debates during the outlawed Kimeza that was aired on Radio one live at the former club obbligato.
It is from here that she was hired to do a stint at the Uganda Media Center where she didn't look back.
What next for Anite?
The Investigator has learnt that Anite and her husband, Allan Kajik (former Nebbi NRM Youth chairperson) jointly registered an NGO called Northern Uganda Agency for Rural Development.
Perhaps she will retire to serve her people now that the people of Adakado have said NO!!
Similarly,
The family of Captain Francis Babu is not happy. Why? It is a double jeopardy after husband, Babu and wife (Margaret Nantongo Zziwa former East African Legislative Assembly speaker) lost out in the primaries. Babu lost to local artist Daniel Kazibwe aka Raga Dee for the NRM Kampala Mayor candidate. While Nantongo Margaret Zziwa lost out to Minsa Kabanda for the Kampala Woman Member of Parliament.
