Incumbent Stephen Tashobya was trounced by Michael Timuzigu in the Kajara County race

One of the contenders for the Kalungu Kalungu County East MP seat Matia Kintu Musoke has announced that he is crossing from the Ruling National Resistance Movement to join NRM dissident Hon Amama Mbabazi's Go Forward.

This was after he lost in today's party primary elections to incumbent Vincent Bamulangaki Ssempijja who is also State Minister for Agriculture.

Musoke accused the ruling party of throwing its weight on the incumbent and unleashing security agents to brutalize his supporters.

"All this time I have been in doubt but now I realize I have to join a more serious party. I cannot back the NRM again," he said.

Musoke who says his car was vandalized by Ssempijja's supporters, vowed to challenge the election results.

He also vowed to rally all the youths in Masaka district and take them to Amama Mbabazi.
