{UAH} POLICE CLEARANCE FOR POLITICAL MOBILISATION

I have read and heard a lot of information from the Police indicating that the Opposition does not get clearance from Police for their Political mobilisation.Yet the Oppostion at least writes to Police.What the Electoral Commission and Police should tell Ugandans is whether the ruling Party gets clearance for the numerous political activities taking place in the guise of electing flag bearers.I have noted that many of such gatherings do not even have Police presence and it is only when they get rowdy that Police is called to quell the riots.The other day i watched a news item where supporters of the incumbent MP for Iganga South Hon. Milton Muwuma clashed with those of his opponent Asuman Kyafu.There was no Police!! As a matter of fact, the group which overwhelmed the other is the one which "arrested" and threw their blood dripping opponents on to a pick up -Police style, and took them to Iganga Police Station!!The Police at Iganga declined to receive the injured people and instead told their tormentors to take them to hospital for treatment!!Police should not just tell the public that the NRM gets permission but should bring a file from their registry containing letters duly date stamped to show to that they are not biased.It is not enough to say that they get permission.There should be evidence.
