Stephen Harper has stepped down as leader of The Conservative Party following a loss to the Liberals Party in the federal election, the Canadian Press is reporting. Harper will stay on as an MP for Calgary Heritage. He has been the only leader of the organization formed in 2003 between the Progressive Conservative and Canadian Alliance parties.

We are expecting  Harper to make a speech in under ten minutes.
