KASESE: A primary seven pupil at Kinyamaseke primary school in Munkunyu Sub County, Kasese district has delivered a baby boy shortly after entering the Integrated Science exam at school.

The 14-year-old girl's names withheld because she is a minor is said to have developed labor pains at around 9:20 am while sitting her exam.

Mr John Kule, a human rights activist working with Karambi Action for Life Improvement who is also monitoring the PLE exams at the said school told Daily Monitor that "After she realized labor pains, she raised her hand and asked to be removed from the examination room."

She was then rushed to Kinyamaseke integrated health Centre III where health workers worked hard to ensure that she delivers normally.
The school head teacher, Ms Anna Bwambale said the girl had a normal delivery.
The District Inspector of schools in charge of special needs education, Ms KrutsumMasika said, "After the child birth, the girl resumed and concluded her science exam at the maternity bed but later returned to school in the afternoon to sit her final English paper although she was still weak."
At Katiri primary school in Kilembe, Kasese district, another minor sat PLE exams while breastfeeding a one week baby. One of the supervisors said they allowed her to breast feed her child in the company of a scout.

The head teacher Katiri Primary school Ms Bwenge Beatrice said "we realized the minor was pregnant during her 2nd term. We reported the case to Police but the suspected defiler went into hiding. However, the girl later resumed classes."
Meanwhile, examination PLE papers of Science subject sent to Maliba and Katwe Primary Schools were less the number of sitting pupils. The examination supervisors improvised by photocopying PLE papers to meet the number of candidates.

"But this I know, UPC believed and still believes in
very high education. We can call Obote all bad names we have, but the bottom line remains that he got more scholarships for Buganda than all previous Uganda leaders combined. That includes Sir Edward Mutesa, President Lule, President Binayisa, up to and into Ssabasajja Mutebi. Who all happen to be Baganda leaders." Mulindwa
