{UAH} FOR BOTSWANA ONE AMBULANCE SERVING 4 VILLAGES IS UNACCEPTABLE. FOR UGANDA...!

Ministry aware of clinic's one vehicle

Assistant Minister of Health, Dr Alfred Madigele says he is aware that Maokatumo Clinic has one ambulance which covers the major villages of Diloro, Mogapinyana, Kgagodi and Tamasane. Dr Madigele said because of the limited number of vehicles they were not able to issue a second vehicle to Maokatumo.

He said the mother clinic, including Maokatumo, had been assigned at least one vehicle to facilitate in the catchment area.

"All except Tamasane are within a 10 kilometre radius of Maokatumo. Due to transport challenges, we are unable to provide an ambulance specifically for Tamasane, however, we have the Mogapi Health Post which is also in this catchment areas and given it an ambulance as it is a bit further away," he added.

Mmadinare MP, Mr Kefentse Mzwinila had wanted to know if Dr Madigele was aware that the Maokatumo Clinic had only one ambulance, and that the ambulance served the major villages of Diloro, Mogapinyana, Kgagodi and Tamasane. He also wanted to know when would another ambulance be availed to assist the clinic, and its corresponding health posts. Ends

"But this I know, UPC believed and still believes in
very high education. We can call Obote all bad names we have, but the bottom line remains that he got more scholarships for Buganda than all previous Uganda leaders combined. That includes Sir Edward Mutesa, President Lule, President Binayisa, up to and into Ssabasajja Mutebi. Who all happen to be Baganda leaders." Mulindwa
