{UAH} Quote of the week: Mulindwa declares American Baganda useless!

Friends

For years and years I have wondered why Africans who hold degrees from universities in their countries in this or that field are never employed right away when they arrive in countries such as Canada or the United States or the UK. What is puzzling the most is that the education system in Africa was established by Europeans during colonialism and after independence the system was kept intact. Education in French speaking African countries is in French,  so are English and Portuguese African speaking countries. Why then are these African professionals not allowed to work in their respective fields but are forced to retrain and yet Europeans or Canadians can fly to any African countries with the same qualification as their  Ugandan counterparts who graduated from  Makerere University faculty of Health Sciences and start working on the same day of arrival?

I am pleased that I finally found the answer in the past two days because of Alan Barigye, Ocen Nekyon, Akim Odong etc. who called me names and as usual abused me too because I stated that if Black people  want to see themselves as ministers or powerful politicians why are they not actively engaged in real political activities. I gave an example of Baganda in Boston who have been living there since the 60s but have not produced any politician of value. Instead of using daily common sense to address the why question, the above mentioned individuals resorted to abuse and accusing me of calling Baganda in Boston ignorant and stupid. Mark you, the above mentioned individuals from what I understand are degree holders. Because they are not able to address questions in a professional manner they do not meet Western standards of education, professionalism, academic but intellectualism.

For that reason, when they come to Canada, Canadian institution want them to retrain for the same job they have worked on in Uganda for years. Instead of a Ugandan asking himself why he/she is being asked to retrain for the same job for which he/she has years of experience, they resort to name calling and of course claiming racism. Finally, the most interesting part of this dialogue is that the same Canadian company which does not employ a Ugandan with an engineering degree from Makerere in Toronto, would employ him/her without any trouble if they happened to have establish the same company in Kampala. If you are a degree holder, kindly help me understand why that happens.  The essence of this is that mess up your own country, but not ours as long as this Canadian company makes money out of the Ugandans after all the top management is always run by the Canadians.

Barigye and company please learn to answer a question in the context it is asked and do not display your ignorance by abusing the questioner, because by doing so you lower the value of your degree and education even further. It does not hurt to say I have no right answer to your question instead of abusing or character assassination,  after all by Western standard as a black person you are naturally considered primitive and uncivilized, why then  lend more credibility  to this belief by affirming that yes, negro are primitive. Seriously it has to bother someone out there that Ugandans started to flock to UK way back when The Yusuf Lules were still teenagers, yet today the achievements Ugandans have got in London is to establish stores selling Matooke and kabalagala. Really for more than 50 years? And it is not only Baganda that have sadly failed in the UK, for when you look at the UK politics most politicians are lawyers, but Uganda lawyers have achieved nothing in UK than declaring a battle between their liver and the bottle. Yet you and I full well know that whenever such wars are declared, the bottle wins.

Now let me see how you respond to this thread. Have a good weekend as you embrace your degrees.

In Boston USA there is a place called Little Buganda who are now 100% Americans,  and yet to today in 2015 no single Ugandan has aspired to become a Senator or Congressman/woman. Instead, they spend their time talking about "Gwanga Mujje" as  [if] the rest of America understands what "Gwanga Mujje" means.  In the UK [Kabaka] Mutebi spent his entire life as a salesman.
