South Africans want Zuma out
A new survey, published by research firm Afrobarometer, finds that the majority of South Africans do not want president Jacob Zuma to run for a third term.
The results of the survey, published in the Sunday Times, show that around six out of 10 people believe that Zuma often ignores the country's courts and laws.
The full results of the survey are set to be released next week by the Institute for Justice and Reconciliation.
Of 2,400 respondents to the survey, 78% feel that South Africa's presidential term should be limited to two terms.
A survey conducted by the same firm in June noted that as few as 68% of respondents were in favour of term limits for presidents.
City Press reported in September that loyal followers of President Jacob Zuma are launching a campaign for his third term.
It comes amid uncertainty relating to his successor within the ruling party, the African National Congress (ANC), in 2017.
South Africa currently only allows a two term limit.
Thew president has come under criticism during his second term in office, most notably, for upgrades to his Nkandla home using state funds.
"Little chips are starting to fall off the ANC rock," said Wits School of Governance professor, Susan Booysen.

very high education. We can call Obote all bad names we have, but the bottom line remains that he got more scholarships for Buganda than all previous Uganda leaders combined. That includes Sir Edward Mutesa, President Lule, President Binayisa, up to and into Ssabasajja Mutebi. Who all happen to be Baganda leaders." Mulindwa
