{UAH} Bullying the media must stop!!

There is a wanton culture of attacking media houses when they publish news seen to be unfavourable to some. There is need to emphasize that this habit must stop!!

Media houses and journalists must resist this abuse of their professional and human rights. This is most pronounced in the field of politically sensitive news e.g in opinion polls.

Right now there are meek voices feigning confidence attacking Daily Monitor for its published findings in favour of candidate M7. Formerly it was New Vision. Another time Observer.

The most "offended" are least qualified to even raise a finger but they exploit social media anonymity to insult the time and sweat of professionals at work.

Unless someone has the nitty-gritty of methodology used to reach certain findings, they must disabuse themselves of the urge to turn the media into their fall guy.

The threat to press freedom is not a rogue state but a clueless populace.

Stakeholders must come and resist this chauvinism before it reverses gains made in the field.

I have asked Hon Wafula Oguttu to raise this matter on the floor of Parliament before individual journalists are victimised for minding their own business.

This country will not be handed to mammals who already present traits of doom.
