{UAH} CRANES BUS ACCIDENT COULD BE RELATED TO IMPUNITY

Dear Editor,
I wish through your paper to send my condolences to the families of the people who perished in the accident involving the Cranes Bus.While i do not wish to delve into the reasons for the Cranes' trip to Soroti, i wish to inform the Chief of Traffic Dr. Kasiima that there is a lot of impunity on the roads(and he knows it) which is abetted by Police. On most of the roads leading to and leaving Kampala at peak hours, you see  vehicles with private number plates being led by Police lead cars and pushing on-coming vehicles off the road.A case in point is on Monday when that very Cranes bus in question was among vehicles rushing towards Entebbe and was led by a Police patrol vehicle! What was at stake to warrant the Police intervention? Why do people fail to plan their journeys and resort to Police lead cars to rush them through traffic putting other road users at risk and into danger? You now see minibuses with 'NRM task force' as the number plates driving with impunity with Traffic Police looking the other way!I think the Police has lost it and they are targeting opposition Politicians and other simple civilians like taxi drivers whom they harass and extort money from. At other times, taxis and bodabodas  take over control of the roads with Police looking on!!That is why some so called business people torture their employees and debtors in their 'prisons' with Police as accomplices. There is a need to make Police professional and impartial.
