Independent presidential candidate Amama Mbabazi is set to visit Kabale Regional Referral Hospital this afternoon before proceeding to the counties of Rubanda West and and Rubanda East.

Police has deployed heavily at Kabale Regional Referral Hospital ahead of a planned visit by independent presidential candidate Amama Mbabazi to the facility.

Mbabazi is hunting for votes in Kigezi region. He arrived in Kabale on Thursday and held a number of rallies in Rukiga, Ndorwa East and Ndorwa West counties, as well as Kabale Municipality .

Today, the presidential candidate is set to visit Kabale Referral hospital before proceeding to Rubanda West and East counties to hunt for votes.

However,  anti riot police has already deployed at the hospital and its neighborhood.
The police is also keeping a close watch on whoever is entering the facility.

Boda boda cyclists have been asked to stop at a distance of 100 meters, away from the hospital's main gate. Plain clothed officers are also patrolling around the hospital under the command of Kigezi Regional Police Field Force unit Commander Abraham Asiimwe, and the Kabale District Police Commander, Dickens Bindeeba.

A source from the police intimated to URN that they have been ordered not to allow Mbabazi enter the facility.

However,  Kabale District Police Commander Dickens Bindeeba, told URN that they were just keeping law and order.
