Scientists discover 'genderfluid' lioness who looks, acts and roars like a male
Meet Mmamoriri (say that a thousand times) the lioness, who looks, acts and roars like a male.
According to experts in lion behaviour, Mmamoriri developed the characteristics of her surrounding male counterparts in order to survive.
She isn't the first to do so either – there are at least five other 'genderfluid' lionesses on the plains of the Okavango Delta in Botswana, Africa, where Mmamoriri was found.

Scientists say that it is an evolutionary twist, and the offspring of these lionesses will inherit their characteristics.
The same adaptation has been seen in other species, including deer. Some male deer will not develop antlers so they can breed with females on the sly while the other males fight for dominance.
Mmamoriri is one of the stars of the new BBC documentary, 'The World's Sneakiest Animals', which will air on Christmas Day.
