Some NRM leaders belong to Mbabazi camp - Mukula

The NRM chairperson for eastern region, Mr Mike Mukula, has cautioned the party district officials, including registrars, against 'intrigue' and 'treachery.'

He said some of them belong to Independent presidential candidate Amama Mbabazi's camp.
He said Mr Mbabazi's camp connived with some candidates who decided to run as independents after they failed to go through in the NRM primaries.

"Some of the NRM district officials received bribes and were responsible for the irregularities in NRM primaries," said Capt Mukula. He claimed some candidates received money and kept changing names in favour of their own candidates, adding that they could be fans of Mr Mbabazi.

Speaking at Taks Centre in Gulu Town on Sunday where 300 representatives of The Democratic Alliance (TDA) from Gulu, Nwoya and Amuru districts defected to NRM, Capt Mukula said they should not be misled by the Opposition coalition.

While speaking in Pallisa District last week, Mr Mbabazi claimed some of the unopposed candidates in the concluded parliamentary and district nominations are his supporters, adding that he has already started registering victory.
