{UAH} Venezuelan votes: a lesson to Ugandans
Folks;
The turn of fortunes in Venezuela can be attributed to the same one-man par=
ty charisma that we see in Uganda today.
The turn of fortunes in Venezuela can be attributed to the same one-man par=

The late Hugo Chavez loomed large and presented himself as indispensable in Venezuela, just as Museveni is today. And just like Museveni, Chavez always
designed policies and programs that served to entrench himself in power. Chavez's death marked the end of that era, of populist charisma, exaggerated patriotism and sole benefactor of the nation. His replacement, Nicholas Maduro, lacked the charisma and the tacit to manipulate public opinion to his side. The resultant effect is this thorough routing at the polls.
If only Uganda's opposition parties could live and learn what works elsewhere!
