                          NORTHERN UGANDA NEEDS PEACE

As the world celebrates the birth of Christ, as you and your neighbor enjoy the champagne on this long week end, as the fires are burning in your chimney. Look out side as the buds are trying to pop up on every tree and plant. Summer is on us and there is no turning back.

As the world is closing the winter of 2004/5, The Communication Group wants to take this opportunity to put the case of Northern Uganda population once again to the table. A people that are not asking for an Easter holiday, or a festive. But a people who are asking for a right to go home for a single night in twenty years. For the first time in Uganda's history, United Nation has Northern Uganda officially classified as Internally displaced people. In 2005 we have more than a million Ugandans in several districts internally displaced.

Ugandans live under such a terror of rape, hunger, disease and torture. The children born in these camps are today parents in the same camps. This is not a problem of only Ugandans but a problem of the entire humanity.

How dare we allow this to happen in our midst?

The communication group wishes to kindly ask you, that as you are opening the champagne bottle this Easter holiday, as you are remembering the birth and death of this Christ, call on each and every Uganda government/ embassy/ official near you, and do not ask for peace for Northern Uganda. Demand it.

For you owe that phone call/email to the people of Northern Uganda. We have had a 20 years of excuses from Uganda government, and it has failed to deliver. If Uganda government has failed to put peace in Northern Uganda, it is time Uganda gets another leadership that can close these camps.

Thank you for taking your time to remember the population of Northern Uganda.
