{UAH} BEFORE BUGANDA RUN WITH BONDS, IT WAS MY.......

People;

I hope Nokrach Gaumoy will not say,  Oh man, Akim, you sure love to flatter yourself, don't you?   I when i suggest that I first muted the idea for Bonds for Ugandans abroad way back before Buganda run with the idea to the diaspora to sell it to Baganda out there to take it up. I did this in the Acholi website or forum. It bore no fruit, suggesting that, Mulindwa's belief that some are more capitalist is hot air. But we need to examine why a very noble idea such as this has not been embraced by Ugandans abroad and nationally. If the Baganda the capitalist have failed to understand its benefit what more the rest of Ugandans?

Bonds and securitisation is a means to raising capital. For instance, Acholi Municipals could raise money from Ugandans abroad by issuing bonds, an I.O.U to all Ugandans who want to invest in Acholiland. The question is what asset does Acholi municipals have as security considering that Acholi Inn for instance, has already been sold to cronies just like many other parastatals assets in the north.

I don't pretend to know how this would work in the unitary system but I know how in a federal system. I would, therefore, be more than glad to hear from anybody out there who may know, especially from the Baganda, who swallowed the notion hook and sinkers when I first muted it. Was it the packaging that put the Ugandans in the diaspora off or what?

We need to examine it because, after all, it will benefit all tribes and regions.

Akim
