How the presidential debate came to pass.
"Besgye is telling lies...his promises are not attainable...he is not fit to be president...how can he promise salary increment? Where will he get the money?" YKMuseveni
"I challenge Mr Museveni to a debate about our promises...there is alot of money in this country and I believe we can use it well" Dr Besigye
"Am not scared of debate I move with my mouth and head...I was chairman of the debating club in 1967" YKMuseveni
Inter religious council and Elders forum announces date for debate.
" I do not know if I will have time...you ask my staff they are handling it...the problem is I may not have time...we started late and Am addressing 4 rallies aday" YKMuseveni
"We might send a representative the invitation was to the NRM so if HE has no time we will send someone" Kasule Lumumba..
This debate is about presidential candidates....they all confirmed attendance. So anyone who will not show up their chair will remain empty...we will not accept representations" IRCU and Elders Forum.
" Our candidate is busy...he will not attend...he has important rallies on that day" Mike Sebalu.
"It will be usesless to have a debate without the incumbent...to me the debate must be about the 30 year dictatorship in our country...since the incumbent is not attendind its superfolous to talk about a debate" Dr Besigye.
