{UAH} UJA GENERAL ASSEMBLY/ GENERAL ELECTION THIS MONTH

Brothers an sisters, this morning (some time back), l met a fellow
veteran journalist, and East African Bureau Chief, Michael Wakabi.
We agreed that in the coming constitutional/ electoral reforms, Uganda
Electoral Commission should be the only authority with power to
conduct public elections in the country as it is the case in Republic
of RWANDA.
So Uganda Electoral Commission should conduct general elections and
also political party elections including party primaries so that we
get rd of the kind of Tanga Odoi Commission which make Uganda a
laughing stock.
Even election of professional bodies like Uganda Law Society and
Uganda Journalist Association should be conducted by Uganda Uganda
Electoral Commission.
This reminds me that the two year term of the current UJA Executive
Committee ends next month(January) but l have not heard any UJA
official hinting on organizing a General Assembly/ Election.
They will wait until they are pushed. But tomorrow we will be
criticizing President Museveni and Eng. Badru Kiggundu.
Please, UJA Secretary General, Fred Kateregga, time up, lead by
example, announce the day for UJA Polls.
