SV: SV: {UAH} Accident on Northern by pass Busega

GOOK,
My position has not changed one bit about those roads. I never said the development were perfect neither. If you recall well I did complained about the format here last year even while I was still in Uganda. There are lots of adjustments and finishing touches to be done (And a whole lots of ideas on how best to utilize them). I presume you read what I posted last year about those deficient planning and poor construction equiptments? Remember I took up the issue about wanting emphatic overseers?

A good case is the stretch from Gulu Town to Lukwiyakare St. Marys where Lacor Hospital is situated ( not to mention that the area has since time immemorial housed several prominent Inlaws and prominences).

That too is the road that leads to Juba, Sudan. It is very heavily trafficked. Along the stretch are several schools, Cathedrals and Churches not to mention the fact that even Gulu University Medical school trains there.

So, naturally, from a traffic safety point of view, the stretch between Gulu Town and St Mary's should be broadened with both  pedestrian and cycle lanes . This can very easily be constructed above the darainage.

Along the roads too, should be made busstops ( that includes at all the trading centres). I notice along Gulu-Kampala road it is only Gods mercy that work magic when sellers push forward in commotion each time a car, bus or any other vehicle stops.

I HAVE NOT SWAYED ONE BIT!!!! WHO EVER HAVE BEEN ELECTED SHOULD TAKE OVER FROM THERETO CORRECT AND FINE TOUCH THEM. Ogenga Latigo seems aware of the problems too.

Yeah, you are a darling GOOK. Thanks for touching on those humps. l was horrified by them too. And indeed took it up with the constructors at some places around Minakulu and Kiryadongo. Those Chineese are nuts!! I guess the ones who negotiated the contracts did not do good back ground check fefor tendering them. It seems to me like some of the constructors did not have adequate knowlege ofroad construction-not leat in tropical Africa.

You know, between Karuma and Kafu, there were even cemented or concrete humps. What amazed me was that after they had tarmaced the streth, a new problem surfaced: THEY COULD NOT EASILY REMOVE THE HUMPS!!!! Poor young boys had to start drilling(!!!!!!!) them. I guess up to now, the marks are not leveled at some places.

We are in tune there. In the other inner city and immediate outskirts however, the humps are a necessity. Those Boda-Boda accidents would have been many folds worser.

But I thought you were all praise for this " wonderful infrastructure" brought about by your dear leader?

You can't now blow hit and cold at the same time!

Now tell me this.. Why built a " fantastic" road to Gulu and the put " vunundunundu" (humps) on it every 4 kilometres?

SO HORRIFYING and Ugandan are conditioned to immunity. One day I was driving from Kampala to Gulu.
During just one trip I witnessed four Boda involved accident, 4!!!!

THE FIRST WAS on Masaka road not far from Wanklukuku (spl?!), the second was directly after the small round-about between Lubiri and Bulange. The third was opposite Mulago Hospital and the last was at the trading center between Nakasongola and Kafu ( I forget the name).

When I got to Gulu, some friends wanted us to take Boda to Hilarys Onek's Hotel Boma. I REFUSED..., POINT BLANK!!
